Robert D. (Bob) Eddy

Our minister, Bob Eddy (born 12/21/33) began work with the Lorain Church the first week of September 1998. He is married to Patty L. (Wetzel) Eddy. They have two children and seven grandchildren. Bob is a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, St. Mary’s, WV (Not a Catholic school). He attended night classes at Ohio Valley College in the late 60’s, took extension classes in counseling from WVU, attended Black Hawk College in Moline, IL, Augustana College in Rock Island, IL (Pastoral Counseling), and correspondence courses from Sunset School of Preaching, Lubbock, TX. He has attended many lectureships at FHU, ACC, and Harding University. He is a Korean War Veteran receiving an honorable discharge in 1956.

Bob began preaching on weekend appointments in 1953 and continued until 1957 when he began his first located work with the St. Joe, OH church of Christ near Neff, OH. Since that time, he has served 10 congregations in WV, IL, MI, PA, and OH. He has conducted an average of two gospel meetings each year in OH, WV, IL, GA, IA, PA, and AL since beginning full time work. He has also conducted mission meetings in the state of Iowa and in Kingston, Canada. He has spoken on many weekly radio programs and produced many 30-minute TV programs during his career. He helped establish Mid-Western Children’s Home near Milford, OH and served as vice president of the board for a short period of time. He also served on the advisory board of Shultz-Lewis Children’s Home in Valparaiso, IN. He has directed and spoken on many lectureships over the past 20 years. He and his wife have been very active in camp work; he served on the board of the Rockford Christian Camp for ten years and directed the Intermediate Week for five years. He has worked in both State and County fairs. His hobbies have been fishing, golfing, and flying. He holds a private Pilot License
